Cell Groups
A cell group, also known as “small group” or “life group” in other Christian communities, is a group of 8-12 adults who gather for fellowship, study and prayer. Some have specific purposes or projects they share. Others are for people with specific life situations, such as singles’ group, a grief group, or a parenting group. Many are Bible studies. The level of sharing and intimacy depends upon the group and each group’s comfort level. The goal of a group is the transformation of the people participating. A current list of cell groups along with the day of the week each meets follows. If you have questions about the cell groups or would like to join one, contact Pastor Aubrietta at (501) 843-2302.

How are Cell Groups
transformational?
Cell groups help the participants to appropriate grace. It is one thing to say we know Jesus died on a cross to save humanity; it is another to say he did that for us personally. Cell groups help people feel God's love on a personal level through laughter and friendship. As we hear what others see God doing in the world, we recognize his hand in our lives. He becomes our friend.
Cell groups guide members in growth to be like Christ. We are all sinners in need of a savior. Sometimes we cannot see how we fall short until we hear others apply scriptures to their lives. As group members discover areas for improvement in their walk with Christ, they can share those with the group, and ask for prayer, knowing they are in a safe environment.
Cell groups provide a connection with an increasingly intimate group. Cell group members get together outside of their group meeting socially, or they may talk on the phone. A cell group member may lend a hand when you find yourself in a pinch, by picking up the kids at school if you are working late, providing a meal for a member who loses a loved one, or getting the mail for one another on vacation.
Cell groups support believers as they discover and use their gifts. It is hard to know what our spiritual gifts are, but friends in a cell group can often point them out. Also, a cell group can be comfortable environment to bring up questions or concerns about financial gifts, that one might not feel comfortable talking over with a pastor or staff person they do not know well. Such sharing is always voluntary; never required.
